Here We Go Again: Georgetown, Kentucky and Syracuse The Finalists for 2013 Center Dakari Johnson

Johnson, a 6'10" center out of Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick High, has reclassified from the Class of 2014 and is now the best big man remaining on the board in the 2013 class. Johnson played alongside Georgetown's Stephen Domingo on the 2012 USA U17 World Championship team and it was reported that Domingo had been trying to recruit some of his teammates to come with him to the Hilltop.

Per Adam Zagoria:

Syracuse, Kentucky and Georgetown have been involved with Johnson dating to his time at Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick High School. At one point in 2011, he told SNY.tv that "Syracuse is recruiting me the hardest right now."

Kentucky will likely have room for a big man in its 2013 recruiting class, as prized freshman Nerlens Noel is expected to make the leap to the NBA after his freshman campaign. As I am sure you recall, Noel famously chose Kentucky over Georgetown in a nationally televised announcement shitshow when he had the Kentucky logo shaved into the back of his head.

Though Georgetown currently does not have any available scholarships in the Class of 2013, it is expected that one or more may become available due to the health concerns of Tyler Adams and the likely departure of Otto Porter to the NBA after this season. Class of 2013 forward Reggie Cameron will occupy one of those scholarships next season as he has already committed to the Hoyas, and it has been reported that UCLA transfer center Josh Smith is visiting Georgetown this weekend.

How exciting!
