Porter among eight players up for the award.
In a bizarre notification this morning that involves the picture sharing site Pinterest, the Big East revealed the eight players eligible for Preseason Player of the Year voting.
The eight players are listed below:
Shabazz Napier, Connecticut
Gorgui Dieng, Louisville
Otto Porter, Georgetown
Vincent Council, Providence
Peyton Siva, Louisville
Jack Cooley, Notre Dame
Sean Kilpatrick, Cincinnati
Brandon Triche, Syracuse
I would think that Louisville's Siva may have an edge in this voting given Louisville's expected performance this season, but it's nice to see Otto Porter getting some recognition from the Big East, especially after he was unceremoniously left off the damn All-Rookie team last season.
The voting for the award will take place among the coaches at the Big East Media Day on October 17th in New York City.
