I just received the email below so feel free to have at it. Though some will certainly be upset that they will no longer receive their annual book of paper tickets in the mail, this system helps eliminate the scalper problem.
The Georgetown Athletic Department is happy to announce the introduction of a new digital ticketing system available to all Georgetown Hoyas Men's Basketball season ticket holders.
The season ticket digital card program replaces traditional paper tickets with a MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card pre-loaded with corresponding seat locations. The card will provide you with admission to all home games at Verizon Center as part of your full season ticket package.
You will receive one MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card for your account and all of your 2012-13 Georgetown Men's Basketball season tickets will be loaded onto this card. For games you are unable to attend or when you need to share tickets, you may forward or print your tickets through your MY HOYAS Account.
We are happy to announce FREE online ticket forwarding and printing through your MY HOYAS Account.
In an effort to make the transition to digital tickets as easy as possible, several resources will be available to you as a season ticket holder. In late October or early November, you will receive your MY HOYAS Season Ticket Book, which will provide a detailed explanation of the system's benefits, answers to frequently asked questions and step-by-step instructions on how to use your MY HOYAS Account to forward or print tickets .
HOW TO USE YOUR MY HOYAS SEASON TICKET CARD
Using your MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card is simple and easy. Please follow the steps below.
1. When you arrive at Verizon Center, go directly to any entrance gate.
2. Present your MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card to a Verizon Center host. The host will swipe your card to validate your account and provide you with a seat locator tab listing your seat location. One seat locator tab will be printed for each valid ticket stored on the card for that game (seat locator tabs will not be printed for any tickets that have been printed or forwarded through your MY HOYAS Account or by the Georgetown Athletic Ticket Office).
3. Use the seat locator tab(s) to access your seats, presenting them to any Verizon Center host requesting proof of seat location.
