After a disheartening injury to Moses Ayegba on Thursday night, Kenner League bounced back last night with probably the best Kenner League game I've ever seen. No true centers, but a ton of talent and patient, effective offense, near brawls and a shocking amount of heart for the summer league. Mikael Hopkins was the hero, putting back his own miss with just a few ticks left on the clock to give The Tombs the win which sent off the loudest cheer I can remember and a standing O to boot. Full playoff recap comes Monday, but today's action features games at 2:00pm and 3:20pm with Tombs in the latter and Clyde's v. DCX in the first.
Also, in case you weren't aware, Duke sucks. Nolan Smith was playing hard and fouling like a maniac, and after Jabril Trawick stood up to him in a tense confrontation, Smith picked up two quick technical fouls and took his jersey off on the way to the bench. Jabril is rapidly emerging as a fan favorite, and should push for big minutes this season.
