Thank you!!!!
I just about threw a brick at Bristol.
We’re also missing the telecast of our games at St Johns and at Marquette, and two others that aren’t immediately jumping out at me.

naturally
i mean who could possibly be interested in seeing the hoyas play the johnnies in the garden?
Casually.
If the game goes unclaimed by CBS/ABC
Can NBC grab it for Versus/WET/whatever they’re called now? Like a waiver wire or something?

awesome
I agree, I’m not to sure who will be the victor, but this is a pretty solid schedule.
My son is trying to keep up, he plays for his highschool. They have very similiar basketball uniforms.
Time for a Casual Poll
Who showed more disrespect toward the 2011-2012 Georgetown Hoyas, the PLA’s Bayi Rockets or ESPN’s schedulers?

The Big East Conference
for claiming the Rutgers-Seton Hall “rivalry” is greater than Georgetown-Syracuse

On February 4th the Hoyas host USF at 11am.
that’s 10am central for those keeping score at home
Casually.
In 2013
With us playing St. Joes for the newly formed Big Atlantic championship. And that’s the delusional outcome.
Cyncial is we are forced to join the UAA (battling Case Western, U fo C, and WU-STL) while University of Texas San Antonio gets invited to join the Big East.

#Hoyas non-conference home games: Savannah St, UNC Greensboro, IUPUI, NJIT, Howard, American, Memphis. The last four games are consecutive
why won't they
let us play Cuse on a weekend?!

Won't be able to make it to your place on January 4
but I’m expecting to meet a lot of you on March 3.
We pull our pants up and do our jobs here.
I'll be there!
I think. With a friend or two. Hopefully.

Uconn’s First three big east bb games: at usf, st.john’s, at seton hall. Jim Calhoun’s suspension
38-0
Bayi Rockets claim they tied the best college team in America afterwards. Big East promptly implodes.

How can you say that
with NJIT on the schedule. Judging from their team photos I am really looking forward to playing their freshmen who all appear to be actual knights.

SOS Going Down..........Big Time!!
While we do have a few serious out of conference match-ups, the serving up of a mini feast of cupcakes at home is going to hurt our strength of schedule. This could be critical when we go 9-9 or lower in the Big East, and are pushing for a spot in the tournament. I think that there will be a backlash against the Big East sending as many teams as last year to the tournament anyway given how things played out…..but the lower SOS will compound the issue for the Hoyas. Having said that……….playing more better non-conference opponents and………….. losing……… never helps either!! I definitely do not want to see Old Dominion in McDonough this year!! Realistically I think we are looking at 13 plus losses this year overall………and maybe going 7-11 in the Big East. NIT baby!!!
With paranoia,
True, but..
This team will be so much younger it may not be to their benefit to play a killer schedule like they have the past few seasons. Figuring two good opponents in Maui (Kansas and someone else), Memphis, and Alabama that should be enough to provide a test to the freshman, then have a few light weights thrown in to build confidence. From there it is a matter of performing well in conference to get a bid. Hopefully they will be set up for that from the non-conference play.
Never let facts get in the way of a good argument
In defense of cupcakes
Cincy used that to great effect last year. I am also big fan of

Cincy beat us twice last year
also maui likely won’t help if we lose to kansas and then play chaminade
Casually.
but
Just playing Kansas helps, and then they get a third game which would be (hopefully) a second good team. I am just trying to make the best of what looks like a tough season upcoming.
Never let facts get in the way of a good argument
True
And they did well in conference which helped them, though I am not a fan of chocolate.
Never let facts get in the way of a good argument
I had been a big propent of the
tough-love scheduling under JTIII
But given the collapses of the last three years, something tells me we’re doing it wrong.
by bunk moreland on Sep 1, 2011 10:50 AM EDT up reply actions
it's not that bad a schedule
the cupcakes look particularly cupcake-y, but combine the big east schedule with Memphis (expected to be a top 20 school), Kansas (definite big boy) as definite big games and the top half of the maui bracket has 3 good squads within duke/memphis/tenn/michigan. Duke + Memphis are top 10 squads, Michigan’s getting top 25 buzz, and Tennessee’s the one bad team. and alabama has a chance to be decent too.
so basically, don’t lose to chaminade so we don’t have to play tennessee and that’s a third really damn good OOC opponent in Maui.
that said, we can’t afford bad OOC losses.

More speculation A & M is the tip of the iceburg

End of season disatser looming
This schedule is so fucked. We are primed to lose the last 10 games, first round of BET, and not get invited to the NIT.
Here is the breakdown of the last 10 games:
1/28: at Pitt
Starts of the disaster, loss at Pitt.
2/1: UCONN
Team is shaken from Pitt.
2/4: USF
Team is on a two game losing streak against a rising USF.
2/8: at Syracuse
No explanation required.
2/12: ST. JOHN’S
Jonnies are trouble. 0-5
2/18: at Providence
Team is in crisis on the road.
2/21: at Seton Hall
The bleeding continues.
2/25: VILLANOVA
40-18 at the half. Half the student section leaves.
2/27: NOTRE DAME
5k attendance at Verizon
3/3: at Marquette
Losing 9 straight, the season is over and most of the players have given up in the same manner as the previous season.
Start drinking now.
Section 101.
