Document Your Lunch: Monday, August 1, 2011

We're back!  Enthusiasts of lunch documentation can rejoice, as beginning today and lasting as long as we feel like it, THE GLOBAL PHENOMENON brings you the best (and worst) of your very own lunch documentation in its award-winning feature, Document Your Lunch. Join us once again on a lunchtime culinary journey across the country and the planet, as the pictures of the very foods you choose to spend your hard earned money on during the one hour of freedom you have at your jobs, are brought to life and shown to the world.  As a new wrinkle this season, the provider of the best lunch documentation I receive will win a lunch with me courtesy of the blog's vast coffers of gold,  where we will toast one another and document our lunches before high-fiving and eating them.

The_peacemaker_medium

What:  In the spirit of the compromise between the White House and Congress that ended the debt ceiling battle, check out 'The Peacemaker' at Mahony's Po-Boy Shop in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Fried oysters, bacon, and cheddar cheese dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and hot sauce.

How much?:  $10.95

WHAT DID YOU HAVE FOR LUNCH TODAY?

You can Document Your Lunch by taking a pic of your lunch and sending the documentation via tweet to @casualhoya or via email to casualhoya@gmail.com.

Tell us what it is, where you got it, and how much you paid for it, and in addition to a chance to win a casual lunch with me, your lunch will be shown to the masses and we'll make you famous and cool.

This is the greatest daily feature in the history of the world wide web.

Note: Starting tomorrow, DYL moves over to the right side as a Fanpost so as not to clutter the front page with pictures of lunch foods, which may or may not make you happy.  Documentation is all that matters.

just received 'desktop derby' insight

“Clarification on the desktop derby thing. One of those little games in a box – gift from a coworker – never actually broken it out but eventually it’ll happen. Horse racing And lunch documentation all in one!”

jesus

appears to be a combination mexican/freezer burn meal.

peanut butter cookies and oj, huh?

by itsallthatmatters on Aug 1, 2011 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions

organic hunter’s chicken, fresh green breans, root vegetable puree and homemade pb cookies. If you look really closely, you will notice that the OJ packaging notes that it has “NO ADDED SUGAR” — so, I had to add my own sugar. But, otherwise a solid meal.

Grilled Panzanella (bread salad) w/ bell peppers, squash and red onion

Not as delicious as it was for dinner last night, but pretty delicious as far as leftovers go.

appears tasty

i would probably eat about 9 full bowls of it in those miniscule tupperware containers you’re using, however

Quite the casual summer salad

Had to google ‘grilled panzanella’ to verify your translation. A clear winner in today’s opening round
