2011-12 Big East Men's Basketball Schedule: Georgetown's Home and Home Matchups Released
We have learned that Georgetown's 2011-12 Big East games will be the following:
Home Games: (Teams in italics are the teams Georgetown will play twice)
CINCINNATI
CONNECTICUT
MARQUETTE
NOTRE DAME
PROVIDENCE
RUTGERS
ST. JOHN'S
USF
VILLANOVA
Away Games after The Jump:
Away Games: (Teams in italics are the teams Georgetown will play twice)
DEPAUL
LOUISVILLE
MARQUETTE
PITTSBURGH
PROVIDENCE
ST. JOHN'S
SETON HALL
SYRACUSE
WEST VIRGINIA
Note right off the bat that Georgetown does not play Syracuse, Pitt, Louisville, or West Virginia at home next season. Add that to what will already be a weak non-conference home schedule and we might have more than a handful of unhappy season ticket owners.
If this list is indeed true (the official announcement isn't until tomorrow), it would appear that the early money on who our opponent will be for this season's "Gray Out" game would be Villanova or defending National Champion UConn. The dates and times of the games will be announced at a later date.
Egads.

So no Syracuse/Villanova home & home series?
WTF
I prematurely shot my wad, if you will, on what was supposed to be a dry run, and now it looks like I have something of a mess on my hands.

If this isn't bogus, it's definitely bullshit.
How will we all get through the season without at least two widly important wagers?
i really hope this is both bogus and bullshit
maybe we can get the two squads to play an exhibition in moscow on christmas.
Casually.
THIS IS HORSE SHIT

I'm too overwhelmed by
The amount of content posted on the blog today to even process next years schedule.

the best thing that can happen between now and tomorrow
is for some intern to realize this horrible mistake and change the damn schedule.
in fact, this has to happen.
Casually.
is it just our matchups to which there is access...
or are other teams’ schedules equally yawn-inspiring?
this was sent to me by someone operating under a veil of secrecy who has assured me of its accuracy
translation: it’s probably wrong
Casually.
Tell me this isnt true.
If I cant watch Cuse/GTown twice then this season is already a failure. Lame. So.damn.lame. I guess the BE front office doesnt like high ratings. At least we know when the game will be played…the first day of Rivaly Week.
And we also know GTown wont sell out a single home game.
Shot fired.

What the F?
We play the Canadians twice…what is it about that fact that the schedule makers missed?

depends what we get on a Saturday
But I see ThunderTrak potential in St. John’s (and Seton Hall if we must).
Or – a fully armed and operational Thunderbus can take to the mountains and attempt to Escape from Morgantown. Sheesh.
KBE
ThunderTrain will roll to St. John's if possible
Already been assured we can reserve a car – depends on if the game is on a Saturday (or, please baby Jesus, around New Year’s). Cost may also be an issue.
In the alternative, ThuderBus II will roll somewhere. As Sir Hoya suggests, if it is Morgantown – it will look something like this:

There is no way that the Big East/ESPN decided to forego making tons of money by not having us play Syracuse twice. I hope they enjoy all the made-for-ESPNU programming in this schedule.

Those fools just don't get it!
Syracuse-GTown needs to happen twice each & every BE season. It’d be the equivalent of UNC-Duke meeting only once….downright stupid.
I love the Cuse’s nouveau rivalry w/ UConn, but NOTHING (except maybe a NC), beats hammering the Hoyas 2x every season! I’m sure the feeling is mutual.
This schedule SUX!
