Free Money: Georgetown Opens As Three Point Underdog At You Con
Apparently eight straight wins isn't enough to impress the folks in Vegas. Georgetown opens as a three point dog for tomorrow night's match against UConn.

Can we all agree that TheUconnBlog is attempting to beat out TheSmokingMusket

Where is my Sleeping with the Enemy? Who am I going to sleep with now?

Musket has them by a country mile
UConnBlog does that fun SB Nation blog-writers power rankings for the BE, and they are way less obnoxious. I strongly dislike UConn but their blog is fine.
I will have to settle for sleeping with

Seemed like half of them happened in the last 5 minutes
It got so sloppy that they couldn’t seem to control the ball or complete more than one pass in a row!

answer becomes a lot clearer after tonight
right now it is 4 – but we have tie breakers over UL, Nova, UConn and SJU (assuming ND stays in 2nd)
Good talk.

any chance
you could provide a tie-breakers-for-dummies lesson? The head-to-head wins I know. But after splitting with SJU, how do we hold the tie breaker? And what happens in a three-way tie?
if we win today, I think we're in a commanding position for the bye
we’d essentially have a 2 game lead over everyone vying for the bye

Here's an excerpt from the "Big East Men's Basketball" Wikipedia article
The sixteen members of the Big East are seeded in the tournament based on their conference records. Non-conference games are ignored. Ties are broken using an elaborate set of tiebreaker rules, with the first two tiebreakers being head-to-head record and common record against the next best conference team
The source that the article linked to no longer exists, so this info is basically unverified.

Here goes...
Two-Way Tie:
(1) First tie breaker is head-to-head record
(2) Second tie breaker is record against top team in conference. If this is the same, it goes to the next best team, and so on. The trick is that if the teams have played an unequal amount of games against that top team, then you have to assume a “what-if” best/worst case scenario. For example, Georgetown is 0-1 vs. ND and SJU is 1-1. This is a tie because if Georgetown had the opportunity to play ND again, they could match SJU’s record. Keep moving down the standings until one team games an advantage (GU gets the advantage on SJU because they are 1-0 vs Louisville, whereas SJU is 0-1)
(3) If the teams have the same record against the other 14 teams, then you repeat step number 2, but use winning percentage (take away the what-if scenarios).
Three or More Team Tie:
(1) A mini-conference is created between the tied teams and best team is determined by winning percentage, even if there are unequal games. If there is a two-way tie for the top spot, then you go to the above set of rules. If there is a three or more team tie, then you create a new mini conference with those teams. The remaining teams are seeded by record in the original mini conference.
Good talk.
