According to this ESPN article, there is now a third boy who was allegedly molested by Syracuse assistant coach Bernie Fine
Its become clear that these accusations can't be simply tossed aside as Boeheim would like.
This is without a doubt a sad tragic situation, but one thing that has made it singularly worse is the reaction of the Syracuse higher ups and the broader Syracuse community.
Lets recap, Boeheim started out the disgusting Syracuse reaction by repeatedly launching attacks against the alleged sexual abuse victims, despite the chilling effect he was creating for victims of sexual abuse everywhere. Then he and the Syracuse players payed homage to Fine by leaving his bench seat open. Disgusting.
Then the school administrator penned a response letter about the whole situation saying it was a tragedy not just for the alleged sexual abuse victims but also for also for the alleged sex abuse perpetrator. Ugh.
Last, the police have refused to cooperate with the DA in investigating these serious accusations.
As these accusations increasingly look more likely to be true, the Syracuse community should be reminded that the real victims are not the alleged sex abuse perpetrator or their precious basketball team, but the actual abuse victims, the ones whose victimization was overlooked by a community and head basketball coach that cared more about basketball wins than sex abuse victims.
