D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera Set to Announce on Saturday; Georgetown, Louisville, Memphis and NC State the Finalists
D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, a 6'3 combo guard originally from Indianapolis, IN will announce his college decision at 5pm on Saturday. The consensus top 50 guard is completing his high school ball at Oak Hill Academy in VA and has been John Thompson III's top target in the Class of 2012 since it became increasingly clear Kyle Anderson would look elsewhere.
From Coast to Coast Recruiting:
According to Brian Snow of Scout.com, D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera will make his college decision this Saturday at 5:00 pm est. The Oak Hill Academy (VA) guard who was once a Xavier commit is down to Georgetown, Louisville, Memphis, or NC State.
Smith-Rivera has taken official visits to Georgetown and NC State. He was accompanied by Oak Hill teammate and NC State commit Tyler Lewis for his official visit to NC State.
Smith-Rivera recently canceled his visit to Memphis and was scheduled to attend Louisville's March Madness but canceled that visit as well. Based on that it would appear that he's down to Georgetown and NC State, but in this wacky world in which hipsters march on Wall Street thinking they are making a difference, there's just no telling what may happen. Stay tuned.

If he's not a Hoya
I’ll be shocked. don’t think there is any way he goes to play behind Purvis and Lo Brown.
i agree
would be shocked if he doesn’t pick us.

I will gladly welcome any recruit who thinks we'll still have a successfully basketball program in 2016
Now, if we could only teach them to be cynical.
NC State fan here...
I think he’ll choose you guys. I’d be shocked if he picked us since we just picked up Purvis. Definitely wouldn’t mind having him on board, though.
I am on
record for saying he is not a program changer. But he does fill a lot of needs – gives recruiting momentum, actually getting an oak hill guy is nice, gives us at least a theoretical back-up for starks in 2012, strong and physical – benches 300 lbs (probably could play linebacker on the football team). So I welcome as a hoya once he signs on.
Sometimes its pay to be the last team left holding a schollie.
Now watch him annouce for xavier
agree
signing a top 25 players brings a lot of momentum. especially since our only 2012 recruit announced nearly a year ago.
Good talk.

Top 25, or top 50?
didn’t think DSR was a top25 kid
rivals has him at #22
scout at #30
espn will depend on whether he goes to ACC or different conference.
Good talk.

If
DSR comes this way to DC, hopefully this will start a Oak Hill trend, I seriously hope he joins the Hoyas!
