Now Is The Time For Desperate Measures
You may recall, fair reader, the depths to which this blog stooped last year to encourage Our Hoyas to great heights in the Big East Tournament. Those were Important Moments and normally we would be loathe to return to the crutch of music videos so early in the season.
But these are not normal times.
Yes. Against RUTGERS we have to do this. RUTGERS. And we have to do it with EMINEM. But this is it. All or nothing.
Be not afraid.

good stuff from HP
http://hoyaprospectus.blogspot.com/2011/01/friday-thoughts.html
what can we do with the information we “glean” by watching the hoyas play?
Good talk.

Great stats from HP, per usual
Regarding the variability stats, could this chain of logic apply?
Less TOs forced —> Less fast breaks (where our offense has been at its best) —> Lower eFG%
Combined with a far lower eFG% on the well-documented open/semi-open looks we’re getting from the half-court offense, this could account for much of the offensive futility we’re experiencing. I don’t have the statistical prowess (or data) that HP does, but I would be interested in seeing them run some numbers on our fast breaks. It doesn’t feel like we are running less on the opportunities we’re given, just that we don’t even have those opportunities.

Agree With Vee's Neighbor
Per my recent comment on Positive Prognosis: Pittburgh, we are not getting the ball out and up fast on defensive rebounds. Slower more controlled ball movement (and less open backdoor cutters to try to pass to) results in fewer turnovers. But we then effectively turn the ball over by taking bad contested shots and missing.
I think part of the slower up the court (lack of fast break) opportunitiies is that we are really trying to gang rebound. Last few games there are often three Hoyas around the ball – sometimes (especially Lubick) fighting for control from teamates. Just leaves less players up court to get the ball to……….and takes more time to be ready to pass it.
With paranoia,
Forget Eminem...............
….the team’s song should be Springsteen’s “Born To Run”!! If I was smart enough (and really had no life), I could probably re-mix it with some DMV references replacing the Jersey ones to make it more authentic.
With paranoia,
Wow this is sad
You know things are going bad when you’re turning to an Eminem video to get fired up for RUTGERS. Good luck Hoyas, you guys are gonna need it.
p.s. I think this Eminem video is a little more fitting

and looks like your poor start is beginning to effect the recruiting process...
Jamal Ferguson, a 6-foot-4 junior swingman from Maury High School in Virginia, made a verbal commitment to Marquette and head coach Buzz Williams on Thursday, choosing the Golden Eagles over Georgetown after visiting both campuses unofficially earlier this year. (story can be found on espn insider)

Hater in the house!
So a couple alledged Syracuse fans told me to “shut-up” and I’m supposed to listen? Thanks mom. Read my posts in the past, for the most part I try and be objective with my analysis. It’s not my fault my team is backing up my talk while yours is making you look foolish. My advice is to stop eating the sour grapes, to the victor go the spoils

Required reading for any blog denizen
Take home point:
“It’s so simple, yet incredibly hard to do. Every instinct in your body will scream for you to react, the same instinct that makes the other dogs in a pack attack the one acting like a fucktard. You must resist it.
Before you can even stop to think about what you’re going to say, your fingers will be hammering out the perfect combination of letters to “put him in his place.” Understand this: if you combined all of the languages from every life form on every developed planet in an infinite number of universes, you would not be able to construct a single sentence that would accomplish this goal.
He’s not after an argument. He’s after your response. Any response. If you hit that “enter” button, he automatically wins."
Just ignore him and he’ll go back to trolling youtube videos about how 9/11 was a huge set-up orchestrated by Patrick Ewing and Jim Calhoun in 1984.

Here's a question...
Is David Cox’s knowledge of JT3 going to mean Rutgers is highly prepared for our team? No one has mentioned that.
