Evan Daniels

answered a Question for me in a Q&A about our class and targets

Evan Daniels:
Nolan – Sam Thompson is a guy that I could see popping soon. Think Florida and OSU are right there. Hood may wait it out a bit. He was at FSU this past weekend and is set to make some more visits. I think Louisville is targeting him now. Mikael Hopkins has his list at seven and is setting up visits.

taking 4 kids now in this class should be completely out of the question. Having one before the early signing period would seem like a miracle.

we could not land a single recruit in 2011 and we still wouldn’t finish last in the big east. We still have a lot of talent on this team out side of chris, austin, and julian. With a senior Clark and Sims, a junior Sanford, benimon, and thompson, and sophomores starks, lubick, bowen, and abraham we we’ll have plenty of talent. That team would still be top half of the big east.

Why Hasn't G'town offered DSR yet?
While Smith-Rivera hasn’t been able to compete in open gyms with the rest of his teammates, he’s taken note of which schools have been in to check on him. Last month, he narrowed his choices to six: Georgetown, Indiana, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, Wake Forest and Xavier. All but Georgetown of those schools have offered him a scholarship.

http://blogs.indystar.com/recruitingcentral/2010/10/13/smith-rivera-close-to-return-from-knee-injury/

1) All indications are pointing to the fact that Hood won’t show up to midnight madness and will pick his school next week with out visiting Georgetown. I’m still holding out hope he decides to visit, but it’s not looking good. Usually a Midnight Madness visit is a big deal, but clearly Rodney doesn’t understand the importance of such a commitment. Shame.

2) I expect a couple other people to show up to MM that aren’t yet on the list. 2 people on the list of recent visits have been invited to come back for MM but I don’t know if either has accepted yet. or if they’ll end up coming.

Pollard is intresting to me

first we’ve heard the name, coming all the way up from Mississippi. Has to be some serious mutual interest.

Kirby putting in the work.

The long lefty is trying to transition to the wing and is seeing success in the process. Pollard shot the ball well from the perimeter, ran the floor and even displayed a one dribble pull-up from 17 feet. The biggest adjustment will be on the defensive end, where he has to guard the position. Pollard tweaked his ankle prior to the top 20 game but he showed he was one of the top players at the camp.
Pollard is a long lean pogo stick who continues to improve his game. Right now his strength lies in his athleticism both around the rim and in the open floor. The lefty finishes balls around the rim both right handed and left handed with frequency leaving you feeling like he is ambidextrous. He loves to attack in transition and you see the fluidness of his game as he finishes over defenders with ease. Defensively, he has uncanny timing to block shots and quickness off the floor. He often is off the floor a second and third time before his opponent can.

29th overall on Rivals. 51st on scout.

good stuff from recruit scoop on MM visitors
Dakari Johnson ’14 of New York – Georgetown – It was a good experience and good atmosphere. I got to hang out on campus, watch the activities, meet the players and meet the other recruits.
Tanveer Bhullar ’13 of Canada – Georgetown – The visit to Georgetown was great. We (my brother Sim and I) got to tour their campus and saw how new some of the buildings were and how much stuff they have in one place. Their gym was sort of old but they’re building a new facility and practice court. We met with the coaching staff and talked to them. We saw a bit of their practice, as well.
Austin Colbert ’13 of New Jersey – Georgetown – It was a great experience getting invited to a fun event. To cap it off we had a tour of the campus.
