Complete Rumor

I have heard through the rumor-mill here at Georgetown that Hollis Thompson may be leaving to go to Pepperdine at the end of the semester.  I really hope that it turns out to not be true as it would not spell good news for a team looking for bodies at the 4 position.  This would put even more pressure on Lubick to step up and require Georgetown to get on the recruiting for 2011 and 2012.  Once again, I feel that this would have already gotten out if true, so I hope that I am proven wrong, but if someone can check on this, that would be great.  Word is that he has already let the team know.

Stay Casual, my friends.

It is coming from a fellow student

who is friends with some of the basketball players. They were making comments about it the other night and told my friend that Hollis had told the coaches this recently.

eh...

a player doesnt decide to transfer, choose another school, then let his existing coaches know, especially if it is as sudden as this.

more likely, he would decide to transfer and jt3 and staff would help him find another program.

obviously homerish thinking here and details most likely lost as disseminated but gotta hope/pray/believe this to be true

if this were to be true… I doubt it… but it would clearly be for a family emergency.
The main reason I think this isn’t true is if he needed to be closer to his family he could go to UCLA he’s too good of a talent to go to pepperdine.

could he be upset about PT?

cant imagine so, he would be a significant increase in PT this year. and he was not recruited over,

findinig this highly unlikely

if he had to transfer, it’d be done by now, not at the end of the semester. And I believe some of his immediate family is in the DC area to begin with.

Pepperdine? sounds like a joke, literally. As noted, Ben Howland would take him in a second.

not necessarily

Hmmm...

Hang out in Malibu and score 20+ per game while showcasing talents for possible NBA glory or chill at The Pumphouse and be a valuable contributor (perhaps off the bench) to Georgetown.

Tough call.

With BYU joining the WCC

Who wouldn’t want to transfer there?

If this is true – and I’m skeptical – it would be a MAJOR blow to the program.

I really hope this isn't true

For hypothetical purposes though, I’d like the spin doctors to spin this one.

I know, I kid

I put a main story up about Vee transferring which he dispelled himself. It’s easier to figure it out that way than wonder yourself.
