Rakeem Christmas Update: Syracuse Edition

So as the Rakeem saga continues, and we continue to hear ABSOLUTELY NOTHING pertaining to what is going on with Georgetown's recruitment of Christmas, there is only bad news to hear. Some 16 year old who works for Adam Zagoria reported about Rakeem's casual visit to Syracuse, and had this to say

Rakeem Christmas told Syracuse star Kris Joseph that his unofficial visit went very well and that he will probably be back for an official.

Time to panic? Or no?

Stay Casual, my friends.

why would anyone want to go to Syracuse

and living in that depressing Canadian province far far away from family and loved ones?

I mean short of Boeheim bribing and overlooking academic standards?

My doublestuffed oreos fell on the floor of my mom's basement. Save me swagman!

A chance to play for the team that had the most wins in the BE last year?

And has a top 5 ranked recruiting class coming in this year? You know, if winning is at all important to him.

a recruiting class that already has two people at his position. and a center in the class before that too. If playing time is important to him.

Syracuse is going to do a lot worse than expected this year too.

Damn

this is about as early a preseason prognostication as I’ve ever seen. I’m sure you have a solid argument with facts to back that up. If he’s as good as advertised he can compete with time with C.J. Fair in 2011.

Lost 3 really good players off of last years team.
Of the players who played significant minutes they had the 3 highest Ortg.
Rautins and johnson were really efficient scorers and were your best defensive players. The zone was more effective than it’s been in years due to the length of the players.
The top of the zone will be shorter with scoop in there instead of andy. You’ll have less inside play without onuaku. Fab melo does not have a developed offensive game yet to replace him.

Recruiting class is completely overrated. Waiters is a chucker.

Fab Melo: “Fab has the size and length you look for in a prospect at the center position, however he’s raw and will need to work on every offensive aspect of his game … He has some basic post moves, but the fluidity/explosiveness in his execution is too slow at the moment …Will need to work on developing more in depth post moves to become more of an offensive threat … He’s not the greatest athlete, and can get lost in an offensive set as he adjusts to playing in a faster and more up-tempo game”
“Although he has all of the basic characteristics you look for in a highly intriguing big man prospect, Melo’s skill-level remains largely underdeveloped. He struggled to operate effectively in the low post, showing average footwork and post moves with his back to the basket, not really possessing the knowledge of how to use his body effectively to carve out space and finish strong around the rim. He seemed to drift out towards the perimeter quite a bit in turn, showing a very intriguing stroke from mid-range, but also being fairly inconsistent with the actual results here as well. Understanding his limitations and learning how to play within a system will be key for him moving forward”

And they haven't recruited

a single PF yet.

it’s cause all his hoya friends who he talked with constantly are busy working on their games instead.

He also said...

“Dis drive is dumb long”

Rakeem, we want you badly, my man, and getting here does not involve a drive through the frozen wastes of upstate New York. If you come play for us, in a big city, the nation’s capital, then it’s a drive you’ll only have to make once a year. And trust my experience from a few away games, even if you’re leaving Syracuse with a loss, silver lining is, you’re still leaving.

Why so Syracuse?

rakeem

sorry chumps but rakeem is coming to SU. he wants to get a decent education date pretty women(he’s not gay sorry for you) and ACTUALLY win on his way to the NBA. i think it was dillusional for you to think after the way your program has regressed(from one of our rivals) to think you had a chance. i don’t think you’ll see your team with a top recruiting class for the next 20 years unless it’s mens synchronized swimming which i know you are developing. we’ll be rooting for you to make the NIT over the next few years.

thanks for stopping by

you are a glowing example for your school and team, and i am sure every word you write, say and mutter is fully supported by your orange brethren. your grasp of basketball history is remarkable and your sly, witty and well-researched jabs are enlightening. i am honored by your attempt to insult georgetown.

best of luck to you in all your endeavors and good luck kicking the glue sniffing habit.

Sorry to inform you...

spelling delusional as “dillusional”, as you did above, does not equate to a “decent education”….

You guys can’t help falling all over yourselves proving our point!
