New York Knicks Sign Former Georgetown Hoya Patrick Ewing Jr.
The New York Knicks are reporting via Twitter that they have signed free agent and Georgetown alum Patrick Ewing Jr.
Ewing Jr. was originally drafted 47th in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings and later traded to the Houston Rockets. He eventually ended up on the New York Knicks and had a solid debut in their final preseason game. Despite much fanfare, the Knicks cut Ewing Jr. (of course the Knicks would never do want the fans want) and ended up playing for the vaunted Reno Bighorns of the D-League.
More on Ewing after The Jump:
Since then, Ewing Jr. has been battling injury problems but it is nice to see him get another shot to play in the NBA.
Ewing was a critical part of the 2007 Georgetown Final Four team and was named Big East 6th Man of the Year in 2008.
More details to follow as they become available, right now we can only go on 140 character or less.

The Knicks have re-signed Patrick Ewing Jr. to a partially guaranteed deal.
It will likely become fully guaranteed if he makes the team’s final roster, which is far from a guarantee. But if he does make it out of training camp and onto the team, he’ll be the final player added to the Knicks’ 15-man roster.
Casually.
