Dont get the bron bron hate

yes he is a selfish bore – but he is best player by far. And many other players act much worse, Kobe raped a girl and now he is being cannonized. Bron Bron will win titles. Its inevitable.

I said chicago at the end of the season, and I am sticking with it even though there is evidence of forming the super friends in miami.

My gut says Cleveland still

And then push like hell for Chris Paul.

His behavior this week, with the Twitter, website, TV special, etc. would suggest NYK

Knicks

Amare is better than Bosh and Knicks can get CP3 next season in some mutant sign and trade with the Hornets.

Amare, Lebron, CP3 will rule the world.

well said

Bill Simmons:

13. I think it’s a cop-out. Any super-competitive person would rather beat Dwyane Wade than play with him. Don’t you want to find the Ali to your Frazier and have that rival pull the greatness out of you? That’s why I’m holding out hope that LeBron signs with New York or Chicago (or stays in Cleveland), because he’d be saying, “Fine. Kobe, Dwight and Melo all have their teams. Wade and Bosh have their team. The Celtics are still there. Durant’s team is coming. I’m gonna go out and build MY team, and I’m kicking all their asses.” That’s what Jordan would have done. Hell, that’s what Kobe would have done.

In May, after the Cavs were ousted in the conference semifinals, I wrote that LeBron was facing one of the greatest sports decisions ever: “winning (Chicago), loyalty (Cleveland) or a chance at immortality (New York).”

I never thought he would pick “HELP!”

C-Town

If LeBron doesnt go to Knicks he has to be staying in Cleveland. No chance anyone can put on this televised spectacle and turn his back on hometown…unless he is some sort of heartless alien.

JESUS F-ING CHRIST

Isiah Thomas visited LeBron James on Wednesday night to make one final pitch for him to join the Knicks.

As Frank Isola said on Twitter: “The Heat sent Pat Riley while the Knicks sent a guy that doesn’t even work for the organziation.” Considering that everything Isiah has touched since his playing days ended has turned to mush, this was a very interesting choice for Jim Dolan to make. It also creates some thought that Isiah may end up playing a prominent role for the Knicks again. Either way, Isiah’s name is now going to be associated with LeBron’s decision as it relates to the Knicks, win or lose.

smart
CNBC is reporting that contrary to earlier reports, LeBron James is not expected to make his announcement within the first 15 minutes of Thursday’s ‘The Decision’ show.

Not too shocking, and actually makes more sense if he waits until the end of the show. In other LeBron news, Ric Bucher said on Twitter that of the seven insiders he spoke with today (GMs, agents, team officials), four said he’s going to Cleveland and the other three said New York. Despite the fact ESPN has been reporting he’s likely to go to Miami, not one of Bucher’s sources mentioned the Heat.

my guess is cleveland

as Casual said above — who destroys his hometown on primetime TV?!

That said, imagine if you are in his situation and are going to stay with the team you’ve played for for 7 years already. Why NOT make a big spectacle? Why NOT turn a fairly unremarkable decision into a media hoopla just because you can?

It makes him less likable, certainly, and I am disappointed in this whole obsessive thing, but this it still makes sense in a cynical (yet delusional?) way.

I can have oodles of charm when I want to.

Riley announces he’s coaching the Heat next year?

Bron bron got some bad karma coming his way. Torn acl by Thanksgiving anyone?

by iheartgregmonroe on Jul 8, 2010 10:14 PM EDT reply actions

So messed up

I wouldn’t have minded him going to the Heat. He wants to win, that’s fine. Yeah, making it happen in Cleveland would have been more like Jordan, but the guy’s gotta make himself happy, so ok.

But the hour-long special spoiled it by a lot. Occasional drifting into obnoxious 3rd-person, talking about leading the team mixed with language about teamwork.

Ugh…man, I’m moving my tent that much further into the Thunder camp.

Why so Syracuse?

dan gilbert is a moron

Cavs owner: LeBron quit during playoffs

He went to Miami to win a championship but quit when trying to do it with the Cavs?

Lebron gave them 7 years of service. Sour grapes, I am glad he didnt go to back to Cleveland if that is the tone set at the top.

Good talk.

I wholeheartedly support telling lebron off

one of the legion of a-holes in this world whose dickishness is enabled by people not being able to tell them off.

Cleveland built a new $25 million practice facility so that it would be closer to where Lebron lived for this clown. He deserved getting ripped a new one.

but that was their choice to build it

lebron went where he could win, and he had every right to.

the practice facility looks like a stupid and desperate move now

still hate lebron, but hate gilbert more

I don't fault LeBron for leaving

I fault him for doing that dumbass TV special.

Gilbert bails him out with this though. What a psycho. He was the one enabling LeBron all along

I'm not actually Jeff Green's Dad

by JGD on Jul 9, 2010 10:42 AM EDT up reply actions

what choice did he have?

how could he not have enabled him? He was basically forced to do everything “King” James said.. including hiring his worthless friends and hiring a personal masseuse for him, running all of his free agent signings and trade deals by him, etc.

Also, whose fault is it that the Cavs didnt win? They won 60+ games twice. It was only because Lebron choked that they didnt win a title.

From Durant's Twitter

“I really don’t deserve this praise for handling my deal the way I did…plenty of guys did it the way I did…”

Love this kid. It’s not doing King James any favors to have KD making a quiet extension at the same time.

Why so Syracuse?

i have spoken with representatives of both verizon and at&t.

verizon: for $199 (after $100 rebate) i can get vuirtually the same plan i have now with my blackberry on at&t for the droid x which comes out next week

at&t: for $199 i can upgrade my current blackberry to the iphone 4
