Kuran Iverson Highlight Reel (h/t: CuttingDownNets)
Last time Thompson the Third coached a family member of a player his father coached, Georgetown went to the Final Four. Can the same happen in 2013? It is being reported that Kuran Iverson, cousin of Hoya legend Allen Iverson, is very interested in Georgetown. TheRecruitScoop reports:
Kuran Iverson '13, who's cousin Allen Iverson was a star at Georgetown, says his dream school is Georgetown.
This completely contradicts a story published by CuttingDownNets last month that stated:
Georgetown as [Iverson's] favorite and Kentucky being a dream school.
I for one think it is absolutely unacceptable for a recruit from the Class of 2013, which means he just finished his freshman year of high school and is probably 15 years old, to flip-flop on his dream school. This should be set in stone before the age of 12.
I also think it is pathetic that I am writing about a player from the Class of 2013. By that time I will be retired in the Caribbean, living off the riches made from this blog whoring itself out to EA Sports.
(More on Iverson after the Jump)
Iverson is a 6'8'', 170lb SF out of Windsor, CT. Not many recruiting reports/rankings on the chap but ESPN had the following to say about him:
His skill set at his age and size is absolutely staggering. He has a smooth shooting stroke off the catch and the dribble, a polished jump hook on the block, the handle to cross over his defender, and the vision to facilitate for his teammates. Physically, he has even started to fill out, now boasting some developing strength in both his upper and lower body. In other words, he can literally play all five positions on the floor. The only noticeable limitation from a skill standpoint was a hesitation to finish plays with his left hand. With virtually limitless tools the next step for Iverson is in learning to use his versatility to be as efficient as possible by taking what the defense gives as opposed to forcing a predetermined plan of attack.
First step to getting Iverson would be to sign a damn player from the Class of 2011, otherwise he will be playing by himself.
