Report from Kenner League Friday, July 9 submitted casually by loveshack99 and Jonathon Wallace, JD:

Some casual observations from our first night at Kenner…First game, we saw the DC Legends with Chris Wright and Henry Sims take on Beyond Belief.   The first thing we noticed when we strolled into the gym while warm-ups were still going on was that the rumors were true…Chris Wright is jacked.  He looked great, confident and fast and took control when he needed to….including a 3 with about 20 seconds left to secure the 96-95 win for DC Legends even though he was visibly hurting after running into the goal post during the play before.  He just looked much more controlled and accurate…not the normal Wrecking Ball we love. Henry looked, well, not bad.  He definitely looked fitter but still not consistent.  He definitely played better in second half than first and there seemed to be a good connection between him and Chris. He had a couple nice 10-14 footers, good offensive rebounding, and lots of tip-ins.

More from Kenner after The Jump:

Also on DC Legends was Georgetown Class of 1990, Mark Tillmon.  Still looked good and worked well with Chris.

On Beyond Belief we saw Isaiah Swann class of 08 from Florida State.  He definitely was the dominating force on that team…though he liked to complain to the refs…a lot….

The 8:40 game we saw Jason Clark and Team Takeover…versus a team we never caught the name of…
He looked good but the rest of his teammates were so good that he kind of just blended into the woodwork.  He had some good plays and made some nice threes but didn’t really stand out. Kind of what we expect from Jason, consistent.  The best all around player we saw was his teammate Dewayne Jackson, rising sophomore from Morgan State.  And his parents and sister were sitting in front of us which was super cute.  That kid is good.

Another standout of the night was Tre Kelley, alum of South Carolina.  Great player.

Final score of second game 80-71, Team Takeover with the win.

Julian Vaughn, though not playing, was kicking it casual in his wife beater and flippy floppies and watched both games.  Austin Freeman showed up after the end of the second game to say hi.

Pics from the game to follow later.
