Former Hoyas Assistant to Coach Mount St. Mary's
Gary Parrish is reporting that former Hoyas assistant coach Robert Burke will be named the head coach of Mount St. Mary's.
Burke spent five years next to Thompson on the Georgetown bench before leaving abruptly last year. Some speculate he was fired, I tend to agree. Burke landed at American, taking the position of Mike Brennan, who came to Georgetown, in some sort of wife coach swap.
All three of the original Thompson the Third assistants have now had head coaching experience: Sydney Johnson leads Princeton, Kevin Broadus destroyed Binghamton, and Robert Burke will sit at the helm of Mount St. Mary's.
(Note: For those that don't remember Burke, here is an absurdly large headshot of him courtesy of AU.)

HEAD COACH at mt. st mary’s!
what am i missing here?
Casually.
Quality coach
He deserves it – he’s a great teacher, recruiter and stand-up guy. He actually recruited all the top Hoyas, while all the non-Burke recruits have transferred or left or infected the team (JS)….He was the fall guy for the Sapp saga and the poor coaching/motivation that can’t get them out of a post-season first round. What assistant is JT3 going to blame for losing to Ohio?
maybe David Cox?
Faint whispers on the rumor mill have his name popping up for the open assistant spot on Pitt’s bench next season.
Casually.
