Greg Declares
ESPNAndyKatz Georgetown makes it official: Greg Monroe will declare and sign with an agent. Last holdouts are Duke's Kyle Singler, FSU's Solomon Alabi.
Bye Greg we'll miss you. Very sorry to see you Go and wish you weren't leaving. Thank you for all you did for Georgetown. Hoya Fans Love you and will support you at the next level.
But damn this sucks. I really thought he was going to come back.

The right decision
Any scout or GM who wastes a pick on someone like Ed Davis over Monroe should be fired.
Would have been great to see him back at Georgetown for another year but his game is clearly ready for the pros.

...this sucks
There goes the only shot we will have at seeing G’town win a national championship in our lifetime. Fact of the matter is G’town gets good recruits, not great ones. Landing the #1 recruit one year and pairing him with two other higher than usual recruits was really our only chance. We won’t see another talent like Monroe ont he hilltop anytime soon and even if we do they’re most likely one and done or won’t have the talent this team would have had. Next year will be another year of cheering for mediocrity as we push for the Sweet 16 and bounce between 10 and 20 in the rankings, but never being a serious National Title contender. Monroe will sit on the bench and watch others play as I truly believe someday he will eb an elite big man in the NBA, but as of right now he has no right hand and has no shot outside of 10ft. Other than a lock-out happening he will regret int he long run he never even won a Tourney game jeez. Being a G’town bball fan is like purposefully giving yourself blueballs. The recruiting talent is good enough to get you excited….but in the end they will always let you down. Thank God I am a Yankee fan….

BTW
if anyone thinks any sort of combination of Vaughn, Sims, Lubick and Abraham is going to replace Monroe I would like to buy some of your amazing weed. Vaughn is a great PE Jr type that brings toughness defense and rebounding, but his offensive game is limited. Sims and Abraham are projects and in my opinion Sims will never amount to anything. Lubick will eventually be a great player, but it is too much to ask of a Freshman to contribute the way he would need to for us to contend for the title. Plus, do we know if Freeman will ever be the same after this Diabetes thing? If you look back the only game he really played well after that was Cinci and I could go for 15 against that D. Unless Wright’s game explodes and he blossoms into a legit NBA PG Monroe just left with our title chances…
