Johnnies Ready to Welcome Steve Lavin

Chatter in the NY Post is that Lavin is the leading candidate to coach the Redmen next year.

St. John's athletic director Chris Monasch and former UCLA coach Steve Lavin left a dinner meeting at a Tribeca restaurant last night with the understanding that Lavin would become the Red Storm's new basketball coach, several sources told The Post.

When Chris Mullin was draining threes and Bud Tall Boys, the Redmen were one of our fiercest rivals in the Big East.  These days beating losing to St John's just hasn't been as rewarding as the good old days.  The Big East is a better league with a competitive Redman team.  So, welcome Coach Lavin.  The Hoyas look forward to making your life miserable during your tenure in NYC.  The only thing we’ll enjoy more than kicking your ass next year is the chance to gaze upon your lovely wife.

Stay Casual, my friends.
