Greg Monroe Named Third Team AP All American
Pretty cool news for the sophomore from Louisiana. I bet he'd be first team if he came back to school next year. That'd be even cooler.
Interesting quote from Evan Turner about returning for his junior season that Greg should read:
"I'm definitely honored to be a part of a team like that and to be recognized. It's really cool," said Turner, an honorable mention selection last year who thought about entering the draft as a sophomore. "I think I just grew mentally and the maturity of my game is really elevated. I think I've become a way better player. I think I've learned a lot in the extra year I've been here and I'm just really thankful I made the decision."
PLEASE STAY GREG, I'M BEGGING YOU.

If Greg stays...
…that means fewer minutes for dear Moses.
The boy’s name Moses is pronounced MOH-ziz. It is of Hebrew origin, and its meaning is “saviour”.
Casually.
I'm not sure how many minutes he'd get even without Monroe
as a raw big man talent, he would seemingly be behind Vaughn, Lubick, and probably Sims in the rotation.

He will declare
the question is whether he stays in and hires an agent. If he is legitamately projected as a top 10 pick, he should go. Hello salt lake, maybe even Knickerbockers…

Kansas junior forward Cole Aldrich is expected to announce he’s leaving for the NBA draft at a news conference on Monday afternoon, a source close to Aldrich and Kansas told ESPN.com.
Under a new NCAA rule, college players have until May 8 to withdraw from the draft. The deadline to declare is April 25. NBA teams can start working out players on April 29.
Casually.
The guy mixes metaphors
“Both ends of the ball”………come on. By the way, watch how many takes Hubert Davis says the phrase “at both ends of the floor” in any segment. He can say 3 sentences without that phrase.
the Hoya quotes Aran Smith, president of NBADraft.net,
as saying about Monroe:
"I hear that he is going to come out," Smith told me in a phone interview. "I hear that even though he said in the media right after the [Ohio] loss that he was going to go back that that was actually probably untrue, that he just said that in the moment. I think [he will get drafted] in that six to12 range."
not sure if this guy knows anything or not…

nbadraft.net is terrible
draftexpress.com has been a lot more accurate in years past.
monroe is a goner – his second half of the season definitely moved him into the top 10
Good talk.

this is the hoya on him leaving (it's some professional begging, I hope he listens but would understand if he didn't)
It is still unclear if Monroe will return to Georgetown for his junior year or enter the NBA draft. Projections have Monroe as a lottery pick — one of the draft’s top 14 players — but the center faced similar projections a year ago when he decided to return for his sophomore season.
After the Hoyas were upset in the NCAA tournament, Monroe said it was not his last game in a Georgetown uniform, but later tempered his answer by saying he was not looking to the future at the moment.
Added Thompson: "I think that he’s going to sit and make that decision as time goes on."
Should Monroe return, Georgetown will be in the mix for the Big East title and a trip to the Final Four. Though they were inconsistent throughout the season, the Hoyas had no seniors and handily beat two of the four remaining teams in the current NCAA tournament.
If everyone returns for the 2009-2010 season, Monroe and his teammates will be good position to add team awards to Monroe’s individual honors.

Maybe we should try some reverse psychology on greg
Hey Greg, no one at Georgetown likes you. No one wants you to come back for another year. No one wants a Georgetown final four appearance or national championship. So go, leave us! Good riddance!
You deserve a Roy Hibbert elbow to the face.
