Following Moses Abraham's commitment, ESPN Insider is ready to move the Hoyas up in this year's recruiting rankings:
Reports out of our nation's capital are saying that coveted center prospect Moses Abraham has chosen to attend Georgetown.
"Abraham made a two-day official visit to Indiana earlier this week," read a short article in the Washington Post. "after which Joe Boncore, Abraham's adviser, had what he called 'a long talk' with Georgetown Coach John Thompson III and former Georgetown Coach John Thompson II. Following that discussion, Abraham chose to commit to the Hoyas."
JTIII already has two big men on the roster, though Greg Monroe is expected to test the NBA draft waters this season. If that happens, little-used 6-foot-11 rising sophomore Henry Sims will compete with Abraham for floor time.
ESPN Recruiting had Georgetown's incoming class ranked at No. 20 before Abraham committed, so expect this news to positively impact the school's standing, and future chances of winning a title.
Surprisingly, their analysis of the recruits isn't all that compelling:
6-foot-9 C Moses Abraham - JTIII has compared him to Patrick Ewing; Verbal.6-foot-9 PF Nate Lubick - Tough, intense defender with some scoring ability; Verbal.
6-foot-2 PG Markel Starks - Very quick and aggressive, may need to find some poise; Verbal.
6-foot-5 SG Aaron Bowen - Tall wing will focus on building muscle; Verbal.
I suppose a statement about Moses leading the Hoyas to the promised land would now be in order but I'll leave that one to our resident Old Testament scholars.
