Boycott The Red Roof Inn
My roommate and I were BANNED from Red Roof Inn tonight, for no greater offense that simply being GEORGETOWN fans. Honest to God (and as a Catholic institution, that means something). What gave us away as Hoya fans? Our CasualHoya headbands, of course.
Less than an hour after arriving at the RRI we were informed by an asshole bartender (pretending to be Irish) of “four complaints” against us. What they were? No idea. We had exchanged zero words with any of the many trashy Cuse fans they had allowed into their bar.
Offense #5, that ultimatley got us kicked out and banned: Informing LordNick (I think, though I may be mistaken, but defintely a CasualHoya writer b/c he gave us the headbands) of the fact that CasualHoya should no longer sponsor RRI as an offical Hoya bar based on its treatment of Hoya fans that night.
Seconds later, the same bartender came to us and told us we were done and banned. Fuck the Red Roof Inn. Fuck Syracuse.
Any Bar that puts Cuse fans ahead of Hoya fans is not worthy of this blog.
Stay Casual, my friends.

You informed me
and i talked to them about it – they were ready to throw you out forcefully, i said be nice.
they threw a lot more cuse fans out before you, believe me
Good talk.
Hire Esherick, not LordNick. My bad.
The point still remains. Boycott the Red Roof Inn.
Trust me, if we had done anything to deserve a banning from the RRI, (comparable to Jeff Green’s Dad non-payment of a tab), I’d be the first to boast about it. Nothing more honorable than being banned from a bar that is so welcoming to Cuse scum. (I’m still working on my Rhino’s banning, but they have very low standards).
But our only offense was being Hoya fans. We talked no shit to Cuse fans, made no scene, did no wrong. A bartender decided we weren’t worthy of staying and got us kicked.
No biggie. Chinatown has plenty of bars that won’t refuse to serve me or Jeff Green’s Dad.
I don't know what to feel.
Should I be offended that Esherick was falsely assumed to be me? Should I be flattered? Maybe Esherick should be flattered? I am in a swirling vortex of emotions.
relax
its a good bar. they were preventing fights from starting, although they failed numerous times
Good talk.
Was this before or after?
I was in the Irish Channel after the game, right next to the musical stylings of “some poor Irish guy who’s playing the songs Americans like” and it was fine all night. A few one liners and such, but not that bad.
Why so Syracuse?
after
We were in back, my darts
Good talk.

Vice-ssassination
Joe Biden was physically accosted TWICE while trying to leave the Channel. Fortunately I had my not-so-casual Secret Service attire on, so no extended shennanigans ensued.
As for the bar, I think it’s the best you can ask for in terms of a slummy pre/post-game venue…there’s no way you can get that kind of organized drunken carousing going at the other Chinatown bars. Obviously there were some ‘Cuse fans actually staying at the RRI that evening, and it’s not like Hoya fans have established a presence (YET!) in a bar where we can call it our own. I think you’ll get a better result at the ND and Cincy games.
What we need is SirHoya to give instructions on how to turn the Irish Channel into a proper hooligans den.
We're born to do it
lads and ladettes. We salute the subculture every day on here.
Now, where’s my Stone Island top and Burberry gear?

Stock up on your casual threads.

Any Irish Bar that tosses a patron out prior to any blood being spent on the floor, is not worthy to be called an Irish Bar. then again i feel the same way about this current team.

congrats on the rhino banning
i wish i were banned from rhino just so i would have a more legitimate excuse when friends want to go to that trash site. i dont know much about RRI, but move rhino to the tundra!
I wish they had banned...
The rather large amd clearly trolling for some lovin slob of a Syracuse/UConn/Providence fan. She was terrible. And terribly fond of Hire Esherick….

Her siren song
still haunts me. Stand fast, all ye who sail through that particular corner of the Channel.
Hope she finds her long-standing Irish fandom by Saturday!
