The President to be at Verizon for Georgetown - Duke
As you already know, Casual Hoya was founded on the basic principled tenets of rampant speculation and rumor mongering. As such, we at the GLOBAL PHENOMENON are now confirming the rumor that the President will be at the Georgetown - Duke game on Saturday.
While we have no real basis for this confirmation (or do we?), we advise all those attending to get there early should you want to actually see the game and not miss it while waiting to be frisked on a security line. We recognize, however, that getting frisked on a security line may indeed be the highlight of your day.
Developing...
Stay Casual, my friends.

no way
it’s still DC.
Also, I’m a crazy liberal democrat and i cheered like crazy when Condi came. It’s good for the program.
I rushed the court on January 21st, 2006
but who doesn't love Jack?
My wife went a certain not-to-be named big east rival (rhymes with bubblevee Boo) and even she roots for Jack to tear the box to shreds

Hoop Club E-mail
On Saturday, Georgetown University Athletics would like to strongly encourage you to arrive at Verizon Center at least forty five minutes earlier than you normally would. As this event is sold out, and due to the number of dignitaries expected to be in attendance, there will be enhanced security at the entrances to the arena. Therefore entrance into the arena and the parking garages will be slower than usual. To assist in the process, doors and Will Call will open at 11 a.m., two hours prior to the 1 p.m. tipoff.
Obama in the house oh my god, oh my god
Who do we think he will be rooting for and is the other team then a definite lock to win?

I hope Obama doesn't root for Georgetown
His endorsement was the kiss of death for Kentucky…along with Martha Coakley, Creigh Deeds, and Jon Corzine…

There is a better chance
of Greg Monroe being fired out of a cannon during the introductions than for Obama to be rooting for GU.
How am I going to sneak my peppermint schnapps in the game with all of this additional frisking?
Blip
less schnapps vs more frisking
tough call.

Students
Just got the same email.
Torn between booing for treason or cheering for jinxing Duke when POTUS inevitably wears Devils gear and flashes up on the Jumbotron.

UPDATE
Doors lock when Obama arrives at arena until he is in his seat.
He leaves for game around 1230.
Hint: Get there at 12:00
Good talk.
other guests
From thehill.com – though given their lack of accuracy about the venue, the guest list could actually be Shaq, Kofi Annan and Brangelina…
Saturday’s game at the MCI Center will raise money for educational programs in the war-ravaged Darfur region of Sudan, and other special guests include NBA star Tracy McGrady, Alexander Aleinikoff, the United Nations Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees, and John Prendergast, Co-founder of Enough, the project to end genocide and crimes against humanity at the Center for American Progress.
KBE
POTUS better cheer for the Hoyas . . . or he will get the Pelosi treatment
As an aside, although the POTUS manservant Reggie Love played for Duke, PBO’s Communications Director is GU grad Dan Pfeiffer (Col ’98). Dan is a fairly intense Hoya fan, a pretty good hoops player, and I assume [read: hope to God] that he will storm his way into the POTUS Box for the game. When you hear the Hoya Saxa chants coming from PBO, know that Phife is responsible for that.
By the way, what the heck was on the laptop that POTUS, Reggie, Phife, Gibbs, etc. were so excited to see in that picture from the “Reggie Loves Salty Balls” exchange? my best guess is the Erin Andrews naked in a hotel video, but I am open to other wild speculation . . .

He better wear the right color
Tickets have “GRAY OUT” written all over them. I hope someone gets him the message.
If the otherhonored guests truly...
… have in mind “ending crimes against humanity”…… then they’d be more focused on improving the character of the Syracuse basketball team…. and doing away with thugs like Eric Devendorf (the Saddam Hussein of the Big East)
