Taking Care of Business: Georgetown Dominates Rutgers 88-63

Just another ho hum victory for the juggernaut that is the Georgetown Hoyas.  The Hoyas beat Rutgers 88-63 in Washington, DC and covered a 21 point spread.  Greg Monroe had 21 points on 10-12 shooting, 14 rebounds and 7 assists.  Chris Wright and Austin Freeman combined for 30 points on 11-21 shooting.  Georgetown was able to rest its starters for its big week coming up against Syracuse and Duke.

The bench, which has been previously nonexistent, had 16 points, led by Hollis Thompson with 8 and Henry Sims with 5.  According to ESPN's box score, Nikita Mescheriakov had 1 turnover.  The Hoyas shot 63% from the field and had 23 assists on 34 field goals.

Next week is a huge week for Georgetown.  It starts Monday at Syracuse and then Saturday at home against Duke.  For now, let's enjoy another quality performance by this team.

More to follow tomorrow.

personal highlight

my son got pet jack the bulldog in the concourse – and btw rutgers is awful.

I still think there is a better than 50/50 chance our bench goes the whole big east without a player scoring in double figures.

lets at least split the next two.

I assume that this is what you mean by.......

taking away the stink?!?!!?
“….The Huskies are now 19-4 when Calhoun has missed games…..”

Maybe the Hoyas taught them a thing or two about 2nd half comebacks…..

This is a good win for UCons……. as it legitimizes/heightens the value of our win against them….. (sorry for tangentially relating to the whole archenemy/nemesis conversation again,… but…)

Let’s hope that we can keep up the good play…. I love it when Boeheim looks like he’s been sucking lemons during the post-game press conferences….

GO HOYAS!

Perhaps.....

(and I don’t mean to jinx anything)…… next week, 5 of Top 10 teams from Big East!!?!?!?!

It doesn’t mean that much, as it is still January…… but it’s a damn tough conference…. battle tested for NCAAs (should we be so lucky as to get an invite this year…Oh please God!!!)

You taking Sis.....

to The Tombs in her ‘Nova gear in two weeks…since she wouldn’t allow you in Kelly’s……. after all, you were fascinated, by the cross-eyed Main Line girls…..

na

She’s not coming down for that – she rightly under the assumption that college life is a lot better than semi-grown up life.

She already acknowledges that the tombs is better

Good talk.
