Announcement from the Big East:

July 2, 2009

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Georgetown University men's basketball team will host three conference opponents that appeared in the NCAA Tournament at Verizon Center and will play 12 games against teams that advanced to the postseason as the BIG EAST Conference announced league matchups for the 2009-10 season on Thursday afternoon.

The 2009-10 season will mark the third year the BIG EAST Conference features an 18-game league schedule. Each team will play 12 opponents once and three teams twice.

The Hoyas will play home-and-home series against 2009 NCAA Final Four participant Villanova (30-7) and NCAA Tournament participant Syracuse (28-10), as well as Rutgers.

Other home games will include appearances by NCAA Final Four participant Connecticut (31-4), NIT Semifinalist Notre Dame (21-15) and one by St. John's (16-18), which appeared in the College Basketball Invitational. The Hoyas will also host games against Cincinnati, Seton Hall and South Florida.

In addition to road games versus Villanova, Syracuse and Rutgers, the Blue & Gray will visit five other teams that played in the postseason last year - Louisville (NCAA, 31-6), Marquette (NCAA, 25-10), Pittsburgh (NCAA, 31-5), West Virginia (NCAA, 23-12) and Providence (NIT, 19-14) - as well as a visit to DePaul

I'd be ok with that

I think we can get to 11-7 if we put it together, but with what is still a young team, 10-8 would be solid and a big improvement

Georgetown is the third best team in Big East… Link

I kinda agree but do not want to say it outloud for fear of my own hand punching me in the crotch.

With that in mind… 12-6 conference record.

Good talk.

also depends when playing them

and when we play duke…

if we have a brutal stretch like we did this year: (uconn, pitt, nd, prov, duke, wv, cuse) we can be toast again.

Good talk.

Jimmy V

Why no comments about the Jimmy V Classic?
We get an early season game, in the Garden, without the llooming indignity of a loss to the Johnnies.
