Latavious Williams Commits to Memphis

Latavious Williams has committed to the University of Memphis according to Rivals.  This officially ends the circus surrounding the courtship of Latavious, who was one of the two remaining undeclared five-star prospects in the Class of 2009.  Latavious chose Memphis over Georgetown, Kansas St. and Florida International.

We have gained an exclusive copy of Latavious' to-do list, updated for the latest announcement.

Once the bitterness fades, I shall triumphantly return to living my life.  Look forward to playing against Latavious when the Georgetown/Memphis series continues in 2010-2011.

Good talk.

Kick in the crotch to Memphis

On why Latavious chose Memphis:

“The academic situation at Georgetown was just a little intimidating to him.”

recruits

when will T III pick up a JC player. Thompson cannot rebound and has been out a year. They KY kid is skinny and will get run over in Big East. The other kid from VA NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE, WANTED HIM TO EVEN WALK ON. Looks like we become an NIT perennial, just like when I was there in the late 60’s. The apple may have fallen from the familial tree, but its core is gutless and old and archain,

OOPS

I hope Latavious BIG didnt sign a letter of intent. Wow. This Memphis thing is getting interesting. Calimari is such a scumbag. He knew about this in January, and I guarantee you he didnt tell Kentucky about it.

Or Kentucky didn't do their diligence

Even though UK is now saying they knew but didn’t think it mattered:

Kentucky spokesperson DeWayne Peevy told ESPN.com’s Andy Katz on Wednesday night Calipari was up front with Kentucky prior to his hiring. He said Kentucky was made aware of the allegation.

Knowing that your star recruit cheated on his college entrance exam isn’t a major issue for UK administration. At this point, the NCAA should just pay the players and make them not take entrance exams or go to class. That is the only way to level the playing field for all teams.

Good talk.
