2009 Recruits - West Virginia

Bob Huggins, approaching his third year as the head coach of West Virginia, has brought in a strong freshman class to complement his young and over-achieving team.

Star-divide

Dalton Pepper
SG / 6-5 / 215lbs / Levittown, PA
Ranked #133 overall and #31 in position by Rivals.
Was also considering Villanova, Miami, Seton Hall and Wake Forest.
ESPN calls him tough and poised with the ball and states he has a great knowledge of the game.

Dan Jennings
PF / 6-8 / 240lbs / Staten Island, NY
Not ranked by Rivals.
Was also considering Pitt, Rutgers, Memphis and Seton Hall.
ESPN states that he has a strong physical presence but is not polished.  Jennings stated in an interview to the Charleston Daily Mail "being a lefty is an advantage because everyone thinks I'm going to go right.  I feel like when I add the right, I'll be unstoppable."

Deniz Kilicli
PF / 6-9 / 250lbs / Samsun, Turkey
Not ranked by Rivals.
Was also considering Kentucky, Connecticut, LSU and NC State.
ESPN says he is strong, athletic and ambidextrous but not quick in the paint.  DraftExpress, although high on his abilities, questions his upside, as his game seems well developed already.

Casey Mitchell
SG / 6-4 / 215lbs / Marianna, FL
Not ranked by Rivals.
Was also considering Tennessee, Kentucky and Oklahoma State.
Had originally given a verbal to Alabama-Birmingham but backed out and committed to West Virginia on March 9th.  He averaged 20 points for the #1 JC in the country and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Brokeback Mountaineers

None of these guys sound that impressive.

Then again, at least they have more than one guy coming in.

Casually.
