2009 Recruits - Louisville

Rick Pitino has had three recruiting classes ranked in the Top Twenty in the nation since 2005.  The Class of 2009 looks to be no different, and it is currently ranked #15 by Rivals.  Below are the players that have already signed their Letters of Intent to enroll at Louisville next year.

Star-divide

Peyton Siva
PG / 6-0 / 165lbs / Seattle, WA
Ranked #49 overall and #8 in position by Rivals.
Was also considering Miami, Washington and Arizona.
Named to the McDonald's All-American Team.  Card Chronicle describes him as a "do-it-all point guard with both the quickness and the outside shot to be a floor general in the Big East."

Rakeem Buckles
PF / 6-8 / 205lbs / Miami, FL
Ranked #40 overall and #12 in position by Rivals.
Was also considering Miami and West Virginia.
ESPN describes him as an "overall good looking prospect with great upside and should improve rapidly under the Rick Pitino" and Card Chronicle likens him to a smaller version of Earl Clark.

Mike Marra
SG / 6-4 / 200lbs / Northfield, MA
Not ranked by Rivals.
Was also considering Syracuse and Providence.
ESPN marvels at his outside shooting abilities but questions his shot selection and ball-handling skills.  Card Chronicle reports that Marra once shot 55% from beyond the arc during a stretch of 11 games in high school.

Stephan Van Treese
PF / 6-9 / 225lbs / Indianapolis, IN
Not ranked by Rivals.
Was also considering Kansas, UCLA, Ohio State and Indiana.
ESPN labels him as strong but too passive.  Card Chronicle is amazed by his father's levitating abilities.
