This is potentially the last week where Georgetown will move up in the rankings thanks to the losses of others, and not resounding wins over teams with comparable talent. Or said in another way, Georgetown is finally playing against ranked teams this week.
Georgetown moved up to #15 in the AP poll this week, due to the loss by Washington. The Huskies, ranked #12 at the beginning of last week, lost to Texas Tech and dropped to #17.
The Big East has six teams in the Top 25, Louisville dropped out after being destroyed by Charlotte and former Georgetown commit, Chris Braswell. who scored 21 points and grabbed14 rebounds in the victory. Thankfully, Hoya fans shouldn't feel bad about Braswell not coming to the Hilltop, I mean after all, we are SO deep on the bench and have SUCH A HUGE presence in the paint already. The Big East has three teams in the Top 10 and five in the Top 15.
The SEC, Big 12 and Big 10 all have four ranked teams, followed the always deep ACC, which has three ranked teams. The Pac 10 follows with one - Washington.
Three writers have Georgetown as high as #8 while only one writer deems Georgetown not worthy of a Top 25 vote.
